Nothing here exists until you order it
Rippwiller is an independent graphic label. Every piece is printed one at a time, after the order comes in, in the country the order comes from. There is no warehouse, no inventory, no end-of-season pile to burn.
That is not a marketing position. It is how the workshop works, and it decides everything else on this site: why there are no sales, why nothing sells out, why a design stays available for as long as it deserves to.
The graphic is the product
We treat the shirt as a surface and the drawing as the work. Japanese street posters, hand-lettered type, line art, ink and smoke. Each design is drawn or composed for a specific print size and printed at up to 31.4 by 35.6 centimetres, which is the full usable area of the garment. Nothing is shrunk to be safe.
The badge on the chest is two centimetres. It is meant to be found, not seen from across the street.
How a Rippwiller tee is made
- You order. Nothing has been printed yet.
- The order is routed to the print workshop closest to your address: United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada or Australia.
- The artwork is printed straight into the fabric, direct to garment, with water-based inks that sit in the cotton rather than on top of it.
- It is packed and shipped from that same country. Local rates, local delivery times, no customs surprise.
What we will not tell you
We will not call this shirt luxury. It is a Comfort Colors 1717: heavyweight ring-spun cotton at 207 grams per square metre, cut and sewn first and dyed afterwards as a finished garment, which is what gives it the hand and the colour. It is the blank serious graphic labels use, and that is what you get.
We will not claim to be green either. Making a garment costs the planet something, always. What we can say precisely is this: we produce nothing that is not already sold, so nothing we make is thrown away unworn.
